The 41 is a 5 star hotel uniquely situated on the top floor in what once was the ballroom of the sister hotel next door. There are on call beauty therapists, babysitting and children's entertainment. Behind its discreet private entrance, an express lift whisks you from the marble and wood lobby to 16 deluxe rooms and 4 split level suites including the magnificent glass ceilinged conservatory suite. All rooms have tasteful black and white decor and traditional mahogany and leather furniture with luxury marble en suite bathrooms and additional modern facilities such as interactive TV/DVD, high speed internet acess and in-room PC. Lady guests can have specially allocated rooms with inside locks, female service staff and extra lighting and bathroom space.
In keeping with its opulent ambience, 41 provides first class dining and relaxation. The Executive Lounge is open around the clock for dining and guest services - anything from light snacks to a 3 course meal. After 8.30 pm guests are invited to "plunder the pantry" and avail themselves of cold meats, salads, freshly baked breads and nibbles. You can relax by the open fire and dine on bar food or enjoy your favourite tipple with complimentary canapes. The conservatory style glass roof gives natural daylight and an al fresco feel for your breakfast or afternoon tea. The Cavalry bar has a tranquil, traditional club-like atmosphere and live piano music, and next door bbar, slightly trendier, serves cocktails and over 30 wines by the glass and cuisine with a South African twist.
41 prides itself on its business facilities for that extra special meeting or conference. The Executive Boardroom has 10 seats, state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, 42inch plasma screen with laptop and WiFi connection, remote environmental control and videoconferencing. The Executive Lounge provides a wide range of menus and tea-break facilities, and of course there is full secretarial backup and IT support.
